You may have noticed that I have draped a few pure silver pieces of The Chain Gang over these adorable tea pets.
My first tea pet came from Mei Leaf, and I notice they have a Zisha, plurple clay hippo in their shop at the moment. I am feeling somewhat of a deep need to get one for my tea cabinet. It could just be this seasonal song from my childhood reverberating through my mind though.

It didn't take much convincing for me to get my first clay tea pet. The more one pours tea over it, the deeper and shinier its patina gets ... and if I didn't start now - then when?
And let's be fair, as the holiday season began in 2020, everyone was looking for warmth & comfort ... we were hunkering down with family and friends. The sun was setting earlier and it just made sense for me to invite these sweet little afternoon tea pets into my life.
Then it made sense to add a clay tea pot and then silver tea ware. I got this pure silver-lined porcelain cup from Yunnan Sourcing
... and then it made sense to make pure silver pieces that I could wear and play with at the end of every day as I sat with tea mulling my day over. The pets and my making kept me company and continues to. I hope you enjoy this story. Maybe you, too, might enjoy having some of this in your life.
