March 4th - Our 3rd Anniversary
This is a special NewsLetter. I'll get to St. Patrick's Day shop offerings and the recent weather here in Toronto later! Some of you have been with me since launching...
When will my order ship?
Do you ship to the U.S. and Canada?
How much is shipping?
What if something breaks? Can I return or exchange it?
How do I care for my pieces?
Silk Botanicals can be fluffed and reshaped with a handheld steamer or a careful puff of steam from a kettle.
Pure Silver is .999 and naturally resistant to tarnish. A quick polish with a soft cloth is usually enough.
How do I wear it more than one way?
Everything I make is designed to be modular and playful.
You can:
Slip a charm onto a bracelet or necklace
Link two bracelets into a choker, link three into a necklace (see Sizing Guides in our Menu)
Loop charms through earring hoops or onto studs
Pin one into your hair
For product-specific inspiration, visit the “How to Wear It” section on Product Descriptions. ALSO: follow me on Instagram for demo reels.
For product-specific ideas on multi-purposes your pieces might play in everyday, visit the "Re-Purpose It" section.
How do I know what size to order?
Who makes these and where?
I do — Brenda.
Everything is made in Canada (unless it's not available here - and believe me I deep-dive down all the rabbit holes to make sure). If you have access to information you believe I've missed, let me know. I really do want to know what you know!
A few pieces are purchased from other small businesses that practice similar ethics and I like to support them AND I can't do everything myself like make the cool endless clasps that have inspired The Chain Gangs.
Each product is designed by me in my studio using the finest & most sustainable materials I can get my hands on (reclaimed silver'n silks ... things are slow crafted each day when I'm not writing or out on my roof deck garden or strolling through the neighbourhood).
Things are hand-made personally by me while sipping tea ... usually.
Textiles are sourced from quality Canadian suppliers. Prints are my own from photos taken of plants grown from seed in either my allotment or on my roof deck garden. Check the Product Descriptions for "Fabrication Process" on each Product (there may even be a vlog link).
What makes this sustainable?
I use reclaimed or deadstock couture silks
Silver is 99% pure and recycled, refined, certified, traceable, and conflict-free.
Do you offer kits or workshops?
Yes! I create seasonal kits you can make at home.
I also occasionally offer workshops and DIY demos.
They’re designed to be fun, calming, and accessible — no experience required.
Can I send this as a gift?
Absolutely. E-Mail me, and I’ll hand-write it for you.
Every order comes beautifully wrapped — perfect for sending.

(basically I design all the things to solve more than just one thing)
Each Piece
More. Than. Just. One. Thing.
&
More. Than. Just. One. Thing.
Like Windows likened as eyes being windows to our souls, they can surely serve practical purposes in our homes, to see through and open up to let a breeze of fresh air in after a rain ... but could also be repurposed for use in a garden as a prop to draw attention to a particular area or ... or ... (let me give you another picture) as a frame to stretch canvas over or to pop 4 smaller canvas frames within the 4 inner frames and hung on a wall ... and all lovely, creative ideas.
I push boundaries.
I want to see more than what's on the surface.
AND
I want you to, too.
