First Knot Holding Clasp on Silk Thread

Second Knot is a Box Knot
(seen on the right below)

With the last bead on, I looped both threads through the clasp without knotting the last bead, and then tied a double knot next to the clasp using the same knotting method as earlier to knot between each bead. Then, I separated the silk threads and used the thread with the needle attached to push it back through the last bead to secure it in a 2nd spot with glue.

These photos Top Photos show gluing on either side of the final bead on the strand after all have all been threaded on. Photos at the Bottom show me gluing knots on both sides of the clasp so they look the same.

All Photos show two threads on the left side of the clasp visible on either side of the last bead next to the clasp.

G-S Hypo Cement is used on both sides of the last bead and both sides of the clasp. I allowed the long threads to remain on the piece while the glue cured for 24 hours. The next day, I cut them off at the glued knot with sharp nail scissors. I then used a pair of baby nail clippers to make a final precision cut, getting as close as possible to the knot on either side without clipping into it.

I've been wearing the bracelets non-stop for a few weeks, and the clasps and knots are as good as new. After watching many videos on securing clasps, I used a combination of a number of ways shown. Then, I doubled back, taking a thread through the last bead - something I'd not seen anyone else teaching in knotting methods.

Neither was I too impressed with just cutting threads with scissors. I went back in after and used precision baby nail clippers designed to work carefully and safely in tiny areas and cut right next to the knot without cutting any of the threads.

Probably sometime in mid-September so they are ready for Holiday Gift Making & Giving. They sold out quickly because I don't make a lot. So set a reminder.

OPTIONAL - 36" Matching Finished Wrinkle Pure Silk Ribbon $16.00 each
(bracelet not included)
A matching sink wrinkle ribbon is a nice touch tied in a bow on your bracelet choker set. I wear mine in my hair and haved used it to decorate a fedora as a hatband and I've tied it like a scarf on my neck just inside the collar of white linen shirt.
